Emma Pendleton Bradley Hospital is the nation's first psychiatric hospital devoted exclusively to children and adolescents.

Volunteer opportunities

Volunteers have the opportunity to serve in a variety of areas, including:

  • Research
  • Speech pathology
  • Activities assistance
  • The family resource center
  • Reading programs
  • Occupational therapy
  • Office support
  • Classroom assistance

Requirements

Each volunteer at Bradley Hospital must:

  • Interview with a volunteer coordinator
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Commit to a 2 to 3 month period
  • Be willing to help the unique needs of the children
  • Have an interest in the mental health care community
  • Submit a complete application with references
  • Produce an updated immunization record
  • Submit to two tuberculosis tests
  • Participate in a half-day orientation about hospital policies and procedures, including patient confidentiality
  • Get a Bureau of Criminal Information fingerprint
