Overview:

The purpose of the Developmental Core is to provide a source of funding that will encourage scientific innovation in the field of AIDS research, attract new investigators to the field, and encourage collaborative research efforts that would not otherwise be funded. The second purpose is to encourage the development of underrepresented minority scientists, and provide mentoring for junior faculty members interested in the HIV/AIDS research field.

The Developmental Core has created an environment on both the Tufts and Brown campuses and their affiliated hospitals where funds via the developmental grant program and mentoring are available to all Tufts and Brown faculty members with an appointment of at least Assistant Professor. Please visit the CFAR Developmental grant program for specific application instructions and guidelines.

In addition, Minority Travel Scholarships are available to minority faculty members or trainees in the area of HIV and AIDS research that are affiliated with this CFAR. Further information can be obtained by visiting the Minority Travel Scholarship site.
