Hasbro Children's Hospital Hallett Center Diabetes Program is a program for kids and teens with type 1 diabetes who are cared for in the Pediatric Diabetes Clinic at the Hallett Center.

The Hasbro Children's Hospital Hallett Center Diabetes Program allows patients to connect their glucometers to their home computers at any time and send the results to a database at the Hallett Center. The results become part of the patient's record and can be viewed by the staff including doctors, nurse educators and dietitians. The staff can use this information to quickly identify patients who need changes in their treatment.

How the Program Can Help You

The purpose of the Hasbro Children's Hospital Hallett Center Diabetes Program is to increase communication among patients and their families, and the diabetes team. It also allows them to ask questions, receive answers and view test results in a way that protects their privacy.

Hasbro Children's Hospital Hallett Center Diabetes Program encourages teenagers, the primary users of this site, to take control of their diabetes and treatment. They can send messages during non-school hours and read responses the next day at their convenience. The Hasbro Children's Hospital Hallett Center Diabetes Program will increase communication among teens and lead to improved outcomes of type 1 diabetes management and treatment.
