The Center for Pediatric Imaging
Our Team
The Center for Pediatric Imaging’s staff includes skilled, board-certified
radiologic technologists and the state’s only board-certified
radiologists who specialize in pediatric imaging. Our
radiologists communicate directly with patients’ pediatricians
to ensure efficient and accurate transmission of test results
and other important patient information.
 
Michael Wallach, MD, is
director of the division of
pediatric radiology at Hasbro
Children’s Hospital and an
associate professor (clinical)
of diagnostic imaging and
pediatrics at Brown Medical
School. After earning his
medical degree from Case
Western Reserve University
School of Medicine in
Cleveland, Ohio, Wallach
completed a residency in diagnostic radiology at Mount Sinai
Medical Center, also located in Cleveland, and a fellowship
in pediatric radiology at Children’s Hospital Boston.
John Cassese, MD, is an
assistant professor of diagnostic
imaging and pediatrics
at Brown Medical School.
Cassese graduated from New
York University School of
Medicine. His residency in
diagnostic radiology was
completed at State University
of New York Health Science
Center at Syracuse and his
fellowship in pediatric
radiology was fulfilled at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital
Medical Center.
Kathleen McCarten, MD, is a
graduate of the Medical
College of Pennsylvania.
After earning her medical
degree, McCarten completed
her residency in diagnostic
radiology at St. Joseph’s
Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor,
Michigan, and her fellowship
in pediatric radiology at
Children’s Hospital Boston.
McCarten is an associate
professor (clinical) of diagnostic imaging and pediatrics at
Brown Medical School and currently serves as co-director of
the school’s medical student program in diagnostic imaging.
Marcelle Piccolello, MD, is
an assistant professor (clinical)
of diagnostic imaging at
Brown Medical School.
Piccolello graduated from
the University of Pennsylvania
School of Medicine and completed
a residency in diagnostic
radiology at Hartford
Hospital and a fellowship in
pediatric radiology at
Cincinnati Children’s
Hospital Medical Center.
Matthew Marcus, MD,
received his medical degree
from the State University of
New York Downstate
College of Medicine. In
Philadelphia,
Marcus completed his
residency in diagnostic radiology
at Jefferson Medical
College and his fellowship in
pediatric radiology at The
Children’s Hospital of
Philadelphia. He is an assistant professor of diagnostic
imaging at Brown Medical School.
