Childhood Asthma Research Program
Rhode Island-Puerto Rico Asthma Center Childhood Asthma Study
Otherwise known as the RIPRAC Childhood Asthma Study, this project
is one of five large studies in the United States that is funded
by the National Institutes of Health to help us learn about why
there are differences in asthma across communities and ethnic groups.
You may have read about us when the Providence Sunday Journal
dedicated its health section to "Asthma in Rhode Island."
Participating children may receive a free asthma and allergy evaluation.
Participation in this study involves between one and five sessions,
and families are compensated for all sessions they attend. Also,
most sessions can, if you choose, take part in your home. We can
also provide child care and transportation for families upon request.
The Rhode Island-Puerto Rico Asthma Center is funded by the National
Heart, Lung and Blood Institute of the National Institutes of Health.
