Pediatric Emergency Care Nursing
Hasbro Children's Hospital is a division of Rhode Island Hospital, Rhode Island's only
Level I Trauma Center. The nurses in the pediatric emergency department treat children of
various ages, from newborns to 18 year-olds.
Emergency Department nurses also promote
child safety and injury prevention, and serve as resources to the fire and
rescue departments on matters related to children's health. Nurses at HCH realize that children are not "little adults" and try to
educate the public and other professions about their
uniqueness.
