Practice Locations: Providence, East Providence, North AttleboroUndergraduate Education: University of New HampshireGraduate Education: Johns Hopkins University, Masters Public HealthUniversity of RI, Masters of NursingProfessional Organizations: American College Nurse MidwivesLicensure: RI, MALanguages Spoken: EnglishAreas of Special Interest: Caring for teens, breastfeeding supportPersonal: I am married and have two daughters, ages 15 and 20. Beyond midwifery, I enjoy skiing, reading and walking. Philosophy: I entered midwifery in 2002 after the birth of my second daughter, attended by a midwife, with the goal of helping women embrace pregnancy as a normal part of the life cycle. My interests are breastfeeding support, caring for young women making choices about their reproductive health, and preconception planning to improve the chances of a healthy pregnancy. I joined Ob-Gyn Associates in 2006 and am thrilled to have colleagues who pride themselves in caring for women antenatally with comprehensive visits and during their entire stay at Women and Infants Hospital; both in the ABC and traditional Labor and Delivery Unit. My favorite words for a laboring woman: Be in the Moment. Favorite book: Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese.
