The Newport Alliance has been a third-party administrator for drug
and alcohol testing services since 1989. We provide turnkey programs
to virtually all of our client companiesa mix of public and
private sector employers and professional associations. The Alliance
currently serves more than 2,000 employers, with more than 26,000
covered employees throughout 35 states.
Our approach to clients, especially those who must comply with
Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol testing
regulations, is to directly provide or make available each of the
services needed for compliance. In addition to the testing and medical
review officer (MRO) components, they include:
- Technical assistance with employers' policy setup and review
- A supervisor training and certification package
- Employee program information and educational materials
- Random testing program administration
- Substance abuse professional (SAP) referral services
- Litigation package and expert witness testimony services
- All required reporting and record keeping
- 24 hour support via toll-free telephone
- Blind samples
Many of our clients want drug and alcohol testing programs that
satisfy both federal DOT and non-DOT needs. The Alliance is experienced
at combining multiple requirements into a single operating system.
Our knowledge of current and proposed federal and state regulations
stays current, and we operate with the most up-to-date and efficient
processing and reporting methods. Our medical review officer and
medical advisor, Susan Green, MD, MPH, is part of the in-house Alliance
staff.
