The Noreen Stonor Drexel Birthing Center
Your Health Care Team
Our center brings together a caring staff of board certified obstetricians,
pediatricians, family practitioners and anesthesiologists as well
as a certified nurse-midwife and registered nurses who have received
national certification in obstetrical nursing.
You may choose your own obstetrician or certified nurse-midwife to work
closely with you and oversee every aspect of your care. Both you and your baby
will be cared for by the same nurse. Our nurses are educated in all aspects of
maternity and newborn care and are assisted by licensed practical nurses,
nursing aides and student nurses. Our obstetrical nurses consistently score
among the highest in the country in family-centered maternity care.
We are here to support you and your family before, during and after the
birth. Whenever you feel you need assistance, don't hesitate to ask. Our
nurses are educated to provide answers to your questions and to give experienced
practical advice on everything from bathing and feeding to comforting fussy
infants.
Nurses and six lactation consultants lend round-the-clock support
seven days a week-even after mom and baby go home. A nurse from
the Noreen Stonor Drexel Birthing Center will call you soon after you go home
to see how you are doing. Our 24-hour "Warm Line" is staffed
by nurses who are available 24 hours a day to answer questions about
newborn care or just to chat with new mothers.
