Medicine/Surgery, Turner 4
Hi, I'm Kelly. I have been at Newport Hospital for over 20 years,
with the majority of them spent on Turner 4, which is a surgical and orthopedic, with a little bit of medical, unit. It's really a great
floor to gain a variety of experience and skills.
Nursing is not limited
to the bedside! We play an active part in multidisciplinary teams to
help improve patient care. At Newport, nursing opinions are respected!
We have several different preceptor programs that allow the nurse to work
one-on-one with new grads, new employees, or one of our returning nurses. As
participants in an excellent internship program, we actively participate
in the teaching.
We also have opportunities to work with nursing
students from the surrounding area colleges and universities. All of these
teaching and mentoring activities help keep you up-to-date and
patient-focused.
The staff is great, our standards are high and the care we provide is
