Newport Hospital, through its Frederick Henry Prince Memorial Fund, will host a grant development workshop on Tuesday, September 10, 2013. The workshop will provide information and answer questions regarding the grant application/ request for proposal process, which is open from October 1 through October 31.
The fund was established in 2010 through a grant from the Frederick Henry Prince 1932 Trust. The fund supports grants that strive to promote health and wellness among Newport County’s youth and families through physical activity as part of the belief that active kids lead to healthy kids. Innovative entrepreneurs are encouraged to develop programs that promote these kinds of efforts.
Some of the previous recipients include: Bike Newport and its program to get kids on bicycles and exploring their surroundings; Island Moving Company and the continuation of an after-school dance education scholarship program; Tiverton Park Fund and the creation of an obstacle course at Bulgarmarsh Recreation area; and Norman Bird Sanctuary with its initiative to promote outdoor exercise for teenagers.
The grant development workshop will take place on September 10, starting at 5:30 p.m. in the Gudoian Conference at Newport Hospital, located at 11 Friendship Street in Newport. Details on the mission, grant requirements and guidance will be provided. Please RSVP by calling 401-845-1503 or by sending an email to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
