Cardiac Services
The Most Advanced Research and Technology

Our researchers have provided new options for patients with cardiac disease.
|
Using advanced research activities, progressive treatments and the latest technologies, our cardiac care team places a strong emphasis on the study of heart disease and advances in diagnosing and treating cardiac abnormalities. Researchers at Rhode Island Hospital have made important contributions in the use of medications to dissolve blood clots and surgery to prevent and treat heart attacks. In addition, studies by our researchers of defibrillators and pacemakers to monitor and correct abnormal heartbeat have provided new options for patients with cardiac disease.
Information technology also enables us to communicate better and faster with physicians, patients and families. Our doctors file same-day electronic reports that are sent to referring physicians with information on the diagnosis, findings and recommendations for each patient. The referring physician can then share this information with a patient’s family. Additionally, LifeLinks, our Intranet database, allows physicians to access clinical and research information virtually anywhere.
Our research and technology enhances the quality of your care through advanced treatments and complete information. For more information on cardiac care at Rhode Island Hospital, please call 1-888-401-6255.
