Requirements

Before applying for the Critical Care Nursing Internship Program, we require the following:

  • CNA/Nursing Student Associate experience preferred
  • NCLEX testing and Registered Nursing license received prior to expiration of graduate nurse license
  • Current BLS provider
  • GN status/RN licensure
  • Commitment to one year of employment upon completion of the program

Note: Nursing student associates who are currently employed at Rhode Island Hospital will have first consideration for positions.

How to Apply

In order to apply for the Critical Care Nursing Internship Program, you must submit the following:

  • Letter of intent
    • Reasons for applying to the program
    • Long and short-term career goals

  • Resume
    • Please include your professional resume

  • Academic history
    • Offical transcript

  • List of References
    • Two references from clinical instructors

Once the application packet has been completed, please submit to the Human Resources Department, Attention: Nurse Recruiters, Critical Nursing Internship Program, Rhode Island Hospital, 593 Eddy Street, Providence, RI, 02903. Your application will be reviewed by the Critical Care Management Team for possible admission into the internship program.

Once the preliminary selections have been made, you will be scheduled to interview with a clinical manager from the selected unit(s). Candidates who have been selected to interview with the management team should wear professional attire and make every attempt to arrive promptly.
