Admission Requirements
Each applicant must:
A select number of students will be required to participate in a job observation day.
Required courses:
You must provide documentation of a grade of C/75 or better in the following college courses:
- Human anatomy or general biology (General biology course may not be dedicated to plant biology)
- Written/oral communication
- Two general education courses from the following categories:
- Mathematical/logical reasoning
- Written/oral communication
- Arts and humanities
- Information systems
- Social/behavioral sciences
- Natural sciences
Applicants who fail to document coursework with a grade of C (75) or better prior to the application deadline date will not be eligible for admission consideration.
Additional requirements prior to application deadline:
- Health Occupations Basic Entrance Test (HOBET)
The HOBET exam is a 2.5 hour timed test consisting of mathematical ability, reading comprehension and personal attributes. The following are components of the HOBET tests and subtests:
Essential Math Skills
- Whole numbers
- Number system conversion

- Percentage operations
- Decimal operations
- Fractional operations
Reading Comprehension
- Reading rate
- Reading rate placement
- Main idea of passage

The admission process is highly competitive. Each year, many candidates apply for up to 20 spaces in the day program and up to 10 spaces in the evening program. In the first phase of the admission process, points are awarded. The 50 day applicants and 30 evening applicants with the most points will be invited for a personal interview and observation of the radiology department. Selection of students is based on the following: prerequisite courses, HOBET scores, candidate essay, letters of reference and a personal interview. Some applicants will be placed on the alternate list.
It is mandatory that candidates attend an open house prior to the submission of an application.
The Admissions Committee endeavors to select candidates with the most promise of becoming outstanding radiologic technologists. The committee considers information that depicts an applicant's total qualifications for the radiography program and practice. It does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, color, sex, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national or ethnic origin or disability.
