Annual Hospital Research Celebration

News & Events

In order to encourage local researchers to communicate, and to inform the scientific community of outstanding work being done, Rhode Island Hospital hosts an annual Research Celebration.

Since 1993, our celebration has grown from an informal afternoon presentation of 85 posters representing work done only at Rhode Island Hospital to a two-session exposition (i.e., morning and afternoon) featuring 164 posters from throughout the Lifespan Integrated System and CARE NEW ENGLAND. Lifespan's system includes Bradley Hospital and Miriam Hospital as well as Rhode Island Hospital, and CARE NEW ENGLAND includes Women and Infants Hospital and Butler Hospital.

A major highlight of our celebration is the presentation of two keynote addresses by outstanding scientists from outside and within our local scientific community. Another is the Young Investigator's Award Competition. The two Awards are given for the best poster presentation by a resident, postdoctoral fellow, medical fellow, or student in Basic Science and Clinical Science categories.

All interested individuals are welcome to attend. To submit a poster:

  1. Read our instructions (in Microsoft Word format; ).
  2. If you are competing for the Young Investigator's Award, there are additional instructions ().
  3. Type up your data sheet and abstract form. You may want to see a sample. ().
