  • SEECMO 2014 Conference Abstract Guidelines

  • Scientific abstracts and interesting and informative case reviews will be accepted for poster presentation at SEECMO 2014. The deadline for submission is Saturday, February 1.

    Abstracts presented at other meetings will be considered but must be clearly noted.

    Topic Guidelines
    Scientific abstracts describing work in the following areas will be considered for poster presentations:

    •     Extracorporeal life support, including neonatal, pediatric and/or adult ECMO, ECCO2R, or ventricular assist devices
    •     Pathophysiology of respiratory diseases
    •     All therapies for respiratory failure, including nitric oxide, liquid ventilation, HFOV, etc.
    •     Outcome data on patients in respiratory failure
    •     Devices as they apply to respiratory failure techniques

    Case reviews in the following areas will be considered for poster presentations:

    •     Outcome data on patients in respiratory failure, etc.

    Instructions for Abstract Preparation

    •     Abstracts/case reviews should be submitted to SEECMO2014@lifespan.org
    •     After receipt, you will receive an e-mail stating that we have received your submission for review.
    •     Acceptance for poster presentation will be e-mailed by Feb 15.

    Instructions for Preparation

    •    The title should be first followed by the name of the author, the institution and where the work was done (include city, state and country). Title should be in capital letters, using Arial, 16 point font. Name/s of author/s should be in bold, italic and underlined, with last name first, followed by first name and initials.
    •    Please indicate the presenter’s name with an asterisk.
    •    Margins should be: top, 2 inches; bottom, 1 inch; and right and left, 1 inch.
    •    Scientific abstracts should include an introduction, method, result and conclusion.
    •    Case reviews should include: an outline of the case, interesting points for discussion, what you learned from the case and what you would like others to learn from this case
