Developmental Psychopathology/ Early Childhood
The developmental psychopathology
laboratory studies the development
of children who are at risk
for mental illness. The focus is on
the first years of life, concentrating
on parenting, family processes and
children’s social-emotional development.
This includes studies
where parents are identified based
on history of mental health problems,
and children who have risk
factors associated with poverty.
A
clinical research component
includes mental health consultation
for area Head Start and Early
Head Start programs, including
research and program evaluation.
