Description
This project will demonstrate the impact of a 14-session intervention
for improving at-risk adolescents' safer sexual HIV preventive behaviors.
The intervention targets emotions and thoughts, particularly relevant
for adolescents with psychiatric disorders, especially those with
a history of sexual abuse. HIV-related knowledge, attitudes and
behaviors are targeted through both didactic and skills-based activities.
Significance
This research can help to reduce the risk of HIV in vulnerable populations,
specifically adolescents with psychiatric disorders and those with
a history of sexual abuse.
