Background Information

Paccione holds three graduate degrees from Fordham University in New York and an undergraduate degree in Business Education and Economics. Her doctoral degree is in counseling psychology with a dissertation that examines the impact on personality characteristics of adults who as children were raised in an alcoholic family system. Paccione has extensive experience with trauma patients and in managing trauma-related service environments.

Paccione has over 25 years of experience in clinical, supervisory and administrative positions in health care. In former positions, she served as the regional administrator for behavioral health services for the statewide Delaware correctional system; director of the department of psychiatry and human behavior for Southern Chester County Medical Center in Pennsylvania; program director, drug and alcohol services division, Life Guidance Services also in Pennsylvania; and chief of clinical services, Phelps Memorial Hospital Center in New York.

Paccione has managed multi-site, multi-service programs in the not-for-profit sector, has directed her own private practice/consulting corporation and worked in the private, for-profit behavioral care sector as well. Prior to entering health care, Paccione worked in the advertising field in New York. She has published in the areas of both substance abuse and mental health.

Research Interests

Paccione's current areas of interest include restraint and seclusion reduction, resiliency building in children and adolescents, juvenile firesetting, and substance abuse related areas.
