Reduce Your Risk: Prevent Cervical Cancer
Cervical cancer develops slowly over time. Before turning to cancer,
cells will go through certain changes known as cervical
dysplasia. A pap smear is the best way to detect and prevent
cervical cancer. Some of the risk factors include:
- Human
papillomavirus
- Having sexual intercourse before the age of 20
- Having more than seven full-term pregnancies
- Using oral contraceptives for more than five years.
- Smoking
- Smoking and using oral contraceptives at the same time
- Poor diet
Knowing the risk factors and receiving pap test can help protect
yourself against cervical cancer.
