Cancer Data Registry
Information Needed For the Registry
The cancer registry uses strict definitions to ensure accuracy
and consistency in data collection. The same information is gathered
for each individual case.
- Demographic information: age, sex, race, ethnicity,
birthplace and place of residence
- Medical history: physical findings, date of original
diagnosis, details of any prior treatment
- Diagnostic findings: dates and results of diagnostic
procedures or techniques used to diagnose cancer
- Diagnosis: primary site, cell type and stage of disease
- Cancer therapy: surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, hormones,
immunotherapy and clinical trials
- Follow-up: post-treatment therapy, recurrence, quality
and length of survival, cause of death
