At the Comprehensive Cancer Center melanoma program, the focus is on the patient from the first visit. The most experienced melanoma specialists in the area provide individualized assessment, develop a plan of care specifically for each patient, and determine and provide the best possible treatment. A key aspect of our care is our multidisciplinary approach. Because modern treatment of melanoma is complex and crosses several areas of medicine, our melanoma program specialists work closely with each other and with primary care physicians to ensure fully integrated patient care. Other members of the team include specially trained nurses and other health care professionals as needed. Together, we devise an individual plan of care, and the patient leaves with knowledge about his or her disease as well as information about what happens next and why. The melanoma program team at the Comprehensive Cancer Center offers the most innovative diagnostic methods and treatments—many that are not available elsewhere in the region. |
