 John B.
Murphy, MD, is associate director of the division of geriatrics
in the department of medicine at Rhode Island Hospital and director
of graduate medical education at Rhode Island Hospital, The Miriam
Hospital and Bradley Hospital.
Murphy is also director of the geriatric medicine fellowship
at Rhode Island Hospital and a professor of medicine and family
medicine at Brown Medical School. He was the Brown family medicine
residency director and collaborated with the American Academy
of Family Physicians to enhance family practice training nationwide.
Murphy has also helped create and implement a curriculum in geriatrics
for primary care residencies throughout the United States, and
has worked to develop postgraduate primary care training programs
in China, Jordan and Russia.
