Intensivist Linda Snelling, MD, is Hasbro Children's Hospital's chief of pediatric critical care and medical director of its pediatric intensive care unit. She has been at Hasbro for 8 years and has been an intensivist for 12 years.

Hasbro has the area's only pediatric intensive care unit and pediatric oncology program, as well as emergency and surgical units specifically for pediatric patients. It provides care to approximately 6,000 inpatients and 30,000 outpatients each year.

"I see all kinds of patients and circumstances, significantly affect a critically ill child's survival, calm and reassure parents and patients, and face challenges of all sorts every day," Snelling says. She adds that because she interacts with referring physicians she is constantly learning new things about other pediatric specialties.
