Center for Cardiac Fitness
About the Program
The center
is accredited by the American Association of Cardiovascular
and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
|
Whether you're recovering from an episode of angina or open-heart
surgery, or you're interested in prevention programs, the Center
for Cardiac Fitness can help you keep your heart healthy. Our state-of-the-art
facility is staffed with experienced medical professionals from
The Miriam Hospital who will work with you to improve your condition.
The center is one of only a few in Rhode Island to be accredited
by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
Our staff includes:
- cardiologists
- exercise physiologists
- nutritionists
- behavioral health psychologists and
- registered nurses
Our program activities are planned and conducted according to the
severity of each patient's cardiac condition and functional ability--and
personalized by baseline diagnostic testing and regular medical
monitoring of his or her progress. Our goal is to provide the correct
balance of exercise, nutrition, stress management, education, and
individual support services that will help patients incorporate
heart healthy habits into their everyday lives.
Insurance coverage
Depending upon the type of insurance you have, your deductible,
and your diagnosis, most cardiac rehabilitation program costs are
covered; most health plans do require a modest co-pay. Health insurance
plans, however, do not cover cardiac maintenance and prevention
program costs, which are structured as monthly membership dues based
on how many days you use the facility. We offer affordable payment
plans for those who qualify, so please check with us if you're concerned
about costs.
