Travel Medicine Service Staff
Travel medicine is a distinct medical specialty. Many
non-specialists are not familiar with exotic diseases in 229 different
countries. Also, most non-specialists and public health departments simply
don't have time to keep up with the changing disease patterns in these
countries.
Our physicians are trained in tropical and travel
medicine and provide services specific to each traveler's
needs.
Maria Mileno, MD
Director
Maria Mileno, MD, is board-certified in infectious diseases and internal medicine. She is certified in tropical medicine and travelers' health by the American Society of Tropical Medicine. She is a hygiene
associate professor of medicine at Brown Medical School
and a member of the International Society of Travel Medicine
John Lonks, MD
John Lonks, MD is board-certified in infectious diseases and emergency medicine. He is an
assistant professor of medicine at Brown Medical School
Antone Medeiros, MD
Antone Medeiros, MD, is the emeritus director of infectious diseases. He is an
epidemiologist at The Miriam Hospital and a
professor of medicine at Brown Medical School.
John Cahill, MD, DTM
John Cahill, MD, DTM, practices emergency medicine.
He is certified in tropical medicine and travelers' health by the
American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.
