The Workforce S.T.A.T. program is designed, in partnership with the Rhode Island Nurses Institute Middle College, to alleviate the needs of the health care industry and our local community by transitioning unemployed or underemployed Rhode Islanders into prepared certified nursing assistants (CNAs). Upon completion of this five-month stipend internship, participants earn their Rhode Island CNA license and work readiness credentials. Qualified candidates may be considered for future employment at a Lifespan affiliate or Summit Commons Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center. Eligible participants must be at least 18 years of age, have a general educational development (GED) certificate or a high school diploma, and possess a strong interest in health care along with the ability to commit to program design/schedule.
