The Workforce S.T.A.T. program is designed, in partnership with Homefront Health Care, to meet the needs of the health care industry by transitioning – in an accelerated manner – a group of unemployed or underemployed entry-level Rhode Islanders into a prepared, focused, well-qualified Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) workforce. Upon completion of this 4-month program, participants earn their Rhode Island CNA license, BLS certification and work readiness credentials. Program graduates may be considered for future employment at a Lifespan affiliate or Homefront Health Care facility.
The fall session will take 16 to 18 weeks to complete. The free CNA course will take place at Homefront Health Care’s Providence office. The unpaid internship will be offered at Rhode Island Hospital and Newport Hospital. (Application deadline: Monday, August 3 by 5 p.m.)
