    Rhode Island Hospital Receives National Cancer Award

    The Comprehensive Cancer Center at Rhode Island Hospital has received the 2013 Outstanding Achievement Award from the American College of Surgeons’ (ACS) Commission on Cancer (CoC). Rhode Island Hospital is one of only 74 U.S. health care facilities with accredited cancer programs to receive this national honor for surveys performed in 2013. The award acknowledges cancer programs that achieve excellence in providing quality care to cancer patients

    Rhode Island and The Miriam Hospitals Earn Prestigious National Cancer Award

    The Comprehensive Cancer Center at Rhode Island Hospital and The Leonard and Adele R. Decof Family Comprehensive Cancer Center at The Miriam Hospital have each earned the Outstanding Achievement Award from the Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons.

    Breast Cancer Registry Pilot Program

    The Breast Center at the Adele R. Decof Comprehensive Cancer Center at The Miriam Hospital has been chosen by the American Society for Clinical Oncology (ASCO) as one of 20 sites for its national Breast Cancer Registry Pilot Program.

    Rhode Island Hospital and The Miriam Hospital Recognized for Treatment of Complex and Rare Cancers

    On March 11, 2008, Rhode Island Hospital and The Miriam Hospital were named Blue Distinction Centers for Complex and Rare Cancers by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Rhode Island. Rhode Island and The Miriam are the only two hospitals in the state to receive this distinction.
