Our Partnership With Brown Medical School
Rhode Island, The Miriam and Bradley hospitals are teaching hospitals for the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown Universitythe only medical school in Rhode Island. In 2005, 556
medical residents and fellows were enrolled in the
graduate medical education programs at Rhode Island
Hospital, The Miriam Hospital and Bradley
Hospital.
Lifespan hospitals provide the principal sites for clinical training
of approximately 175 thirdand fourth-year students
at Brown University.
As of the fall of 2005, 337 Brown
Medical School graduates lived in Rhode Islandabout eight percent of the state’s physicians.
Lifespan’s graduate medical education department plays an important role in attracting, developing and
retaining medical talent in the state.
In addition, as a result of Lifespan's relationship with the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, exciting research projects are underway that are improving patient care.
