Communication with Doctors: Did doctors communicate well with patients?

Patients gave feedback on how well their doctors communicated with them during their hospital stay. “Communicated well” means doctors:

• explained things clearly
• listened carefully to the patient
• treated the patient with courtesy and respect

Percent of patients said their doctors “always” communicated well.

Data are for July 2010 through June 2011, released May 2012.
