Where does this data come from?
The patient satisfaction data on this site
is reported quarterly to U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
If patients were given medicine that they had not taken before, the feedback survey asked whether staff explained about the medicine. "Explained" means that hospital staff told what the medicine was for and what side effects it might have before they gave it to the patient.
Percent of patients said staff "always" explained about medicine before giving it to them.
Data are for July 2010 through June 2011, released May 2012.
