Lamellar ichthyosisDefinitionLamellar ichthyosis is a rare skin condition that affects newborns. CausesLamellar ichthyosis is passed down through families (inherited). SymptomsThe baby's skin appears scaly, and layers of skin fall off (are shed). TreatmentMoisturizers containing urea and ammonium lactate may help.
