  • Anyone can get the flu. Most people are sidelined for just a few days, but some get much sicker and may need to be hospitalized. The flu causes thousands of deaths each year.

    Flu signs include:

    • fever
    • cough
    • chills
    • sore throat
    • headache
    • muscle aches

    When should I get a flu shot?

    In October or November to beat the high flu season in December and January. You can get the flu shot at the same time as other vaccines. Adults and children over 9 years need one shot annually; kids under 9 years need an initial shot and a booster one month later.
