  • Flu Season in the Hospital

  • We take many precautions to keep you and your loved ones germ-free when you visit the hospital, especially during flu season. For example, you may see hospital staff members wearing surgical masks.

Here's how you can avoid catching or spreading the flu when visiting the hospital:

    • Cleaning your hands can help stop the spread of germs. So we encourage you and your visitors to use our alcohol hand sanitizer (Purell) while in the hospital. Dispensers are located throughout the hospital and in each patient room.

    • We also ask that you practice cough etiquette: please cover your mouth when you cough by coughing into your elbow or shoulder.

    • Please do not visit patients if you have an illness that may be the flu.
