Bizarre and unorthodox account/password settings.
by 9thward at Citysearch
Most websites let you sign in with the username you select when you sign up... Not this one. Selecting a username on CitySearch when you sign up means NOTHING AT ALL. IT'S USELESS.
You cannot do ANYTHING with it with a username- and support is non-existent, which is why over 10,000 members are locked out of their CitySearch accounts. People remember their user name and password combination but you need to know the email address you signed up with as well! ("Hello! I know my username and my password but still can't log in!?!?!?")
To make matters worse, there is no secret question/answer challenge to get your log-in details back. The only thing you can do is have them email you a new password, but what good does that serve? If you knew the email address, you'd have already logged in!
Let's say you did remember the email but didn't have access to it... Great. Now someone else has access to your password and could be off posing as you.
And to add insult to injury, tech support at CitySearch is at best: A NIGHTMARE. Email them with login problems and you aren't a paying advertiser and you will NEVER get a response... EVER.

Citysearch is a great place 4 free data, if you can get it!
- Pros: People, Product and Location
Smart people, great team atmosphere!
by Anne Y at Citysearch
I love the environment here at Citysearch. The people and teams make it worthwhile to come to every day. Everyone here is committed to making great product and technology, with little to no ego getting in the way. That says a lot about the company and the environment that you have to come to every day - you might as well love being at work!
Additionally, the view from the 4th floor is such an extra bonus. And even though there's a lot of street traffic, the restaurants and shops within walking distance adds to the benefits.
- Pros: team work, small, startup feel, smart people
- Cons: traffic around Sunset
