The faculty in the Weight Control and Diabetes Research Center conducts basic research on the biological and socio-behavioral mechanisms that underlie obesity and related disorders (e.g. diabetes) and applied research on clinical and community treatments.

Directed by Rena Wing, PhD, the Weight Control and Diabetes Research Center recently received a large award from the National Institutes of Diabetes and Digestive & Kidney Diseases to coordinate the multi-center Study of Health Outcomes of Weight Loss (SHOW) trial.
