Objectives of the CRAFT Program

The objectives of the Children's Residential and Family Treatment (CRAFT) Program at Bradley Hospital are:

To provide a therapeutic residential placement for children who require constant out-of-home care
To provide a full range of treatment services including behavior management, psychotherapy, medication, care management, therapeutic recreation and outreach to schools and community youth organizations
To assist in transitioning children from an inpatient psychiatric hospital setting to a less restrictive placement or to divert children who are at less serious risk for psychiatric hospitalizations
To provide assessment and diagnosis of complex psychiatric conditions in children and/or families including mood, anxiety and other psychiatric disorders as well as treatment of trauma, which may be the result of physical, emotional or sexual abuse
To develop and review discharge plans on a monthly basis and to create viable social service networks for each family
To unite children with their families within 9 to 12 months
