Bradley Hospital
Communication Disorders Department
More about us
The communication disorders department at Bradley Hospital is comprised
of seven speech-language pathologists who specialize in the assessment
and treatment of children and adolescents with emotional, behavioral
and developmental disorders. We provide clinical services within
the Developmental Disabilities and Bradley School programs. We also
participate in a variety of educational services within the community.
Our Philosophy
For youngsters with communication disorders and psychiatric disorders,
success in social, academic and family domains requires modifications
in caregiver language and the language of school (e.g., spoken and
written materials including behavior management plans) as well as
specific practice using language for a variety of purposes (e.g.,
negotiating, problem solving, protesting).
Assessment, individual and/or group therapy, caregiver consultation,
staff consultation and participation in treatment planning, review
and discharge planning are essential aspects of quality care.
