Volunteering at Bradley Hospital
Emma Pendleton Bradley Hospital is the nation's first psychiatric hospital devoted exclusively to children and adolescents.
Volunteer opportunities
Volunteers have the opportunity to serve in a variety of areas,
including:
- Research
- Speech pathology
- Activities assistance
- The family resource center
- Reading programs
- Occupational therapy
- Office support
- Classroom assistance

Requirements
Each volunteer at Bradley Hospital must:
- Interview with a volunteer coordinator
- Be at least 18 years old
- Commit to a 2 to 3 month period
- Be willing to help the unique needs of the children
- Have an interest in the mental health care community
- Submit a complete application with references
- Produce an updated immunization record
- Submit to two tuberculosis tests
- Participate in a half-day orientation about hospital policies and procedures,
including patient confidentiality
- Get a Bureau of Criminal Information fingerprint
