Vascular and Interventional Radiology Fellowship

This accredited fellowship provides a comprehensive experience in both invasive and non-invasive vascular diagnosis and intervention. In addition, it offers a complete experience in non-vascular intervention, including procedures directed by ultrasound and computed tomography. Experience at the Rhode Island Vascular Institute as well as neuroangiographic experience are integral parts of this fellowship.

Procedures are performed in three angiographic suites, all with state-of-the-art digital imaging capability. A total of 5,400 procedures are performed annually on over 3000 patients, including over 300 vascular interventions. Fellows typically perform approximately 1250 diagnostic and therapeutic procedures per year.

While the focus of the fellowship is on the acquisition of clinical skills, participation in ongoing clinical and basic science research is an integral part of the fellowship experience. At any given time, numerous institutional review board-approved clinical trials are in progress. A fully equipped angiography suite and operating rooms are available for research.
