Hospitalist Programs

Several Lifespan hospitals have created hospitalist programs to ensure that our patients have the best comfort and care and to assist community physicians. Hospitalists are doctors who are based at the hospital and who manage patients' medical care on behalf of their primary care physicians.

Hospitalists do not take the place of a patient's physician, but rather support the physician by providing 24-hour care for each patient. All hospitalists are board-certified internists.
