What to do if you receive a subpoena:

If a constable wants to serve you with a subpoena, you should accept it if your name is accurately recorded. If there are problems with the subpoena, they can be dealt with later.

Most subpoenas relate to non-liability issues; however, if you believe the matter potentially relates to your liability or that of Lifespan or its affiliates, contact the hospital Risk Management Department or Lifespan Risk Services, Inc., as soon as possible.

It may be necessary for an attorney to evaluate the issues or to be present when you testify. Risk Management will review the facts with you and make arrangements for an attorney to be available, if that is necessary.
