Cytopathology

The division of cytopathology is committed to providing high-quality diagnostic services in all major areas of adult and pediatric cytopathology. The division is staffed by a group of five board-certified pathologists, with extensive experience in fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB), and non-gynecologic and gynecologic cytology (Pap smears). The division provides consultation services with rapid turnaround times and autofaxing of reports.

• Liquid-based preparation and interpretation for all specimens.
• Cytyc Imager for automated pre-screening of pap smears Digene Hybrid Capture 2 HPV DNA testing.
• Correlative immunocytochemical, flow cytometric and molecular studies.
• Onsite assessment and immediate diagnoses for FNABs.
• Strong quality control and quality assurance programs.
