With the launch of the automated lab in 2001, we began dramatically expanding our outreach program. Today, the program comprises a network of patient service centers, open during convenient hours, in medical buildings and other sites around Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts. Physicians can access the results immediately if they're registered with LifeLinks, the most advanced patient data management system in the area. Lifespan's pioneering LifeLinks system gives health care providers instant access 24 hours a day to patient information from virtually anywhere via a secure, confidential wide-area network.
In a single electronic repository, LifeLinks combines information previously maintained on hundreds of individual computers, including clinical tests and lab results, medical records from all Lifespan hospitals, discharge summaries, surgical notes and more. LifeLinks reports pathology test results in as little as three hours. LifeLinks also allows you to avoid duplication by checking instantly whether a critical test has already been ordered.
Our high standards and ongoing pursuit of excellence are evidenced by continued accreditation from the College of American Pathologists and the AABB (formerly the American Association of Blood Banks). We look forward to helping you provide the best possible care to your patients.
