  • The Sleep Disorders Center

  • Lifespan's Sleep Disorders Center is the region's first multi-site, electronically linked sleep disorders center. The 16-bed network evolved from Rhode Island Hospital's Sleep Disorders Center, which opened in 1986.

Rhode Island Hospital’s state of the art ten-bed laboratory and centralized services are conveniently located in East Providence, RI. In addition, there is a four-bed facility at Newport Hospital, and a two-bed pediatric laboratory located in Hasbro Children’s Hospital. Read more about the Pediatric Sleep Program

The Sleep Disorders Center is one of the first to be accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. All 16 beds in the Lifespan system are connected by a digital polysomnography network, a confidential patient profile database. Sleep disorder specialists will help diagnose sleep problems and will work with your physician to treat the condition and improve your health. Our team consists of board certified pulmonologists and sleep specialists, behavioral psychologists and registered technologists, all highly trained in the field of sleep medicine. An extensive behavioral insomnia program is located at Rhode Island Hospital.
