    Rhode Island Hospital

Rhode Island Hospital is the largest hospital in Rhode Island, and is a nationally and internationally recognized research center. Rhode Island Hospital is the state’s only Level I trauma center and houses the state’s only verified burn center.     Hasbro Children’s Hospital

    Hasbro Childrens HospitalThe state’s premier advanced pediatric specialty care and outpatient center, Hasbro Children’s Hospital is the pediatric division of Rhode Island Hospital. Built in 1994, the 87-bed Hasbro Children’s Hospital offers a spectrum of pediatric services and programs and is a designated burn center of the American Burn Association and American College of Surgeons. It has the only pediatric emergency department and Level I trauma center in southeastern New England, as well as the only Center for Pediatric Imaging and Sedation, Food Allergy Center and pediatric critical care team and ambulance that operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. The pediatric emergency department is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, by specialists trained in pediatric emergency medicine and other pediatric subspecialties. Hasbro Children’s Hospital has earned worldwide recognition for its patient and family-centered environment and expert staff. The principal teaching hospital of The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, Hasbro Children’s Hospital offers pediatric residency, pediatric surgery residency and pediatric fellowship programs.     The Miriam Hospital

The Miriam Hospital provides a broad range of primary, secondary and tertiary medical services to adolescents and adults in 34 medical and surgical specialties and subspecialties, with particular expertise in cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, gastroenterology, urology, immunology and infectious diseases. The hospital also provides a full range of pathology and radiology services as well as psychiatric consultation/liaison services. A major teaching affiliate of The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, the hospital is home to Rhode Island’s first Joint Commission-certified Stroke Center and robotic surgery program, and has been awarded Magnet Recognition for Excellence in Nursing Services four times.     Bradley Hospital

    Emma Pendleton Bradley Hospital, bradl-about-image-55013-main-buildingwhich opened in 1931, was the nation’s first psychiatric hospital devoted exclusively to children and adolescents, and today remains the only such hospital in the region. Bradley Hospital provides a continuum of inpatient, school, residential, partial outpatient and special education services for infants, children and adolescents. A major teaching affiliate and research center of The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, Bradley Hospital is world renowned for its expertise in child and adolescent psychiatry. More than 30 postdoctoral residents and fellows in child psychiatry, psychology and pediatrics receive training in Bradley Hospital’s programs every year.     Newport Hospital

    Newport Hospital front entranceFounded in 1873, Newport Hospital is a private, 129-bed, not-for-profit hospital offering a wide range of health care services including the Noreen Stonor Drexel Birthing Center; diagnostic imaging; the Vanderbilt Rehabilitation Center, including inpatient, outpatient, stroke, pulmonary, cardiac and cancer rehabilitation; an inpatient mental health program; a wound care center; and community-based primary care and medical specialty practices. Since 2004, Newport Hospital has been designated both a Baby Friendly hospital by the World Health Organization and UNICEF and a Magnet hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.     Orthopedics Institute

    The Orthopedics Institute brings together physicians at Rhode Island, Hasbro Children's and The Miriam hospitals to provide diagnostic, medical and surgical treatment for injuries and disorders of the musculoskeletal system. The institute’s physicians are experts in services such as adult reconstructive surgery, hand, upper extremity and microvascular surgery, shoulder and elbow surgery, arthroscopic surgery, pediatric orthopedics, treatment for spinal conditions, sports medicine, complete management of simple and complex fractures, incomplete bone healing, bone deformities and bone infections, and bone and soft tissue tumors. The center brings together world-renowned physicians, specialists and researchers from Rhode Island Hospital, The Miriam Hospital and Newport Hospital, forming a multidisciplinary team whose level of knowledge and experience are unparalleled in Rhode Island. Our patients have access to promising new treatments through Comprehensive Cancer Center researchers who are actively involved in clinical trials that range from large, nationwide studies to small, innovative trials of new therapies.     Women’s Medicine Collaborative

The collaborative offers coordinated, patient-centered and personalized care all under one roof, including obstetrics and gynecology, obstetric medicine, women’s primary care, women’s behavioral medicine, specialty services for non-pregnant and pregnant women, and gynecologic and oncologic surgery.     Norman Prince Neurosciences Institute

    The Norman Prince Neurosciences Institute unites world-class physicians and scientists from Rhode Island Hospital and its Hasbro Children's Hospital, Brown University and the Brown Institute for Brain Science, Butler Hospital, Bradley Hospital, and the Providence VA Medical Center to provide the highest caliber patient care and to conduct exceptional basic, translational and clinical research—discovery and invention that spans the biomedical research continuum from bench to bedside. Work at the institute focuses on disorders of the developing brain, such as autism and attention deficit disorder; diseases of the aging brain, including Alzheimer's and Parkinson's; and restoring function to the damaged brain, including brain-machine interfaces and deep brain stimulation.     Bradley Hasbro Children’s Research Center

    To centralize research efforts at Bradley Hospital and Hasbro Children’s Hospital and promote collaboration among research groups, all the child mental health researchers within the two hospitals came together to form the Bradley Hasbro Children’s Research Center. The center encompasses a broad spectrum of research programs that share a commitment to studying the impact of psychological factors on the growth and development of children and their families. Under the center’s umbrella, investigators direct more than 50 externally funded projects. Grant support is extensive: awards average over $10 million each year and the total grant awards for all years of currently active projects averages close to $50 million.
