Hospital Accommodations
Patient Meals
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in your child's room. Menus
are distributed daily between 9 and 9:30 a.m. Please make meal selections
for your child by 10:15 a.m. for the next day.
Parents may order one additional meal to eat in the child's
room. A small fee is charged to your hospital bill for each meal
ordered. Please tell your child's nurse or the unit secretary several
hours in advance if you would like a meal served in the room. For
last minute requests, boxed meals are available.
Other special food requests should be directed to your unit
assistant, who begins collecting menus at 10:15 a.m. To ensure that
your child's needs are met, a dietary technician makes mealtime
visits to patients' rooms. Please let the technician know if your
child has any food allergies, eating problems or special nutritional
requirements.
Snacks are available mid-morning, mid-afternoon and at bedtime.
These can be ordered through a dietary technician or dietary aide.
Food from home
You may bring food from home, but please discuss it with your child's
nurse before serving it. Before leaving food from home in your child's
room or in the kitchen, place a label on the outside of the container
with your child's name and the date.
