Welcome to Hasbro Children's Hospital
After Your Child's Stay
Billing
Soon after your child's discharge, you will receive a bill for
services. As a nonprofit institution, Hasbro Children's Hospital
charges patients only for the cost of providing high quality care.
The amount you will be required to pay depends upon the kind of
health insurance you have.
The bill will indicate a daily room fee, which includes linens
and supplies, meals, nursing care and the services of residents.
If your health insurance does not cover the full cost of the room,
you will be asked to pay the difference. Charges for services such
as physical therapy, radiology, laboratory, pharmacy, respiratory
therapy and operating room procedures will be noted in the hospital
bill.
Charges for anesthesiologists, radiologists or emergency room treatment
will be billed to you separately, as well as any charges from your
child's personal doctor.
If you do not have health insurance or can demonstrate a financial
hardship, a financial counselor will speak with you about financial
assistance and help you make arrangements to pay the bill. The social
services department may also be helpful in directing you to community
resources that can help you pay the hospital bill.
If you have any questions about hospital charges and your child
is still in the hospital, call 401-444-4701.
After your child's discharge, call billing/patient financial
services at 401-444-6966 with your billing questions. The
office is staffed Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
