Robert
Klein, MD, FAAP, FACAAI
Robert Klein, MD, is the director of the Asthma
and Allergy Center at Hasbro Children's Hospital, the pediatric
division of Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island, where
he also serves as interim pediatrician-in-chief and associate
medical director. He is a professor of pediatrics and the vice chairman
of the department of pediatrics at Brown Medical School. In 2001,
Klein moved to Rhode Island to establish a center of excellence
in asthma treatment, research and education. For more than 30 years,
Klein has specialized in the treatment and research of pediatric
asthma and allergies.
Klein's research includes perception of asthma symptoms and treatment
guidelines; adherence to treatments in chronic illness; pulmonary
function tests in childhood asthma; latex allergy; recurrent infections;
and cystic fibrosis. His articles have appeared in such journals
as Pediatrics, the Journal of Developmental and Behavioral
Pediatrics, Pediatric Pulmonology, The Journal of
Allergy and Clinical Immunology and others.
