The Asthma and Allergy Center

Respiratory diseases affect more than 35 million people in the United States. Half of those who suffer are children. In addition, it is estimated that 50 percent of respiratory disease sufferers improperly treat their conditions.

The Asthma and Allergy Center at Hasbro Children's Hospital, directed by Robert Klein, MD, is dedicated to providing patients with superior asthma, allergy and pulmonary care. The center implements individualized medical treatment plans to help the patient control his or her chronic condition.

Because patients and their families are an important part of the team, we provide education about the respiratory diseases that affect their lives.

Our Services

The Asthma and Allergy Center is part of Hasbro Children's Hospital, Rhode Island's only pediatric facility. The hospital has adopted a "parents as partners" philosophy that encourages parents to participate in their child's care throughout his or her stay.

In addition to our physician specialists, the center has two nurse practitioners, as well as staff nurses. They are all nationally certified asthma educators. Three additional
nationally certified asthma educators staff our community asthma education and prevention program.
